The PS3 Delid Tool V3 is a precision-engineered tool for safely removing processor lids during console repair, thermal paste replacement, restoration and thermal upgrades. It gives experienced users the control and consistency to separate the adhesive from delicate components while helping reduce the risk of damage to surrounding hardware.
A replaceable ultra-thin blade and a carefully engineered cutting angle deliver accurate adhesive separation with predictable blade control.

Some Slim PS3s use epoxy on the Cell processor die, which stays strongly bonded even after the silicone is cut. We do not support delidding Slim models with a black-substrate Cell processor. Green-substrate processors can be delidded as normal.

This tool is intended for experienced users familiar with console repair. Incorrect use may result in permanent damage to the processor or motherboard.

Which PS3 models can I delid with this?
All PS3 FAT models and early Slim revisions CECH-20xx and CECH-21xx. CECH-25xx, 30xx, 40xx, 42xx and 43xx are not officially supported, and we do not support Slim models whose Cell processor has a black substrate.
Should I do a warm or cold delid?
A warm delid is recommended for most users. Gentle heating softens the silicone adhesive and significantly reduces the force needed, while a cold delid carries a higher risk of damaging the substrate, solder balls and nearby components. How many blades are included?
Every Delid Tool V3 includes three spare replacement blades, giving you four blades in total.
How do I change a blade?
The V3 uses larger Torx screws so blades are quicker and easier to replace.
Is it suitable for beginners?
